Overseas Work Experience - UK - Paid Placement
Introduction
Students in China are facing more and more challenge finding an ideal job because of the fierce competition on labour market. CDP is the short form of Career Development Programme, which has been unique by providing both subject learning and relative work experience to international students. It is the most popular course for intermediate level students.
Designed to equip students with the skills and language ability to undertake successful work experience in a British company, this programme offers students a unique pathway of progression, where learners have the opportunity to acquire career development skills and a nationally recognised British qualification, in conjunction with a period of work experience in the UK.
Students have the possibility to choose to study in one of the centres in London or Eastbourne. This course enables learners to analyse their own potential via the practical work experience element as they work towards a nationally recognised qualification.
Differences between Paid-placement and Unpaid-placement
● If you choose Paid-placement, you will get paid from your employer and a small amount of your income will be deducted for the cost of accommodation and food. Though you can earn some money you only have limited choices of where you work. The choices will be hospitality and catering.
● If you choose Unpaid-placement, you will have to pay your own living expenses during your employment. But you have much wider range of choices about the industry you want to work in. They include Marketing & Sales, Media, Public relations, Advertising, IT & Communications, Finance & Accounting, Insurance, Law, International Trade, Architecture, HR & Training, Customer Service, Travel & Tourism, Hotel & Catering, Retail, Administration, Fashion, Medical, Art & Design, Education, Leisure, Environmental and Charitable.
