Standford Memorial Church (also known as MemChu)

Church (also known as MemChu)
Stanford Memorial Church, built in 1903. Two major earthquakes occurred in San Francisco in the 20th century and caused serious damage to the church. Although the overall structure did not collapse, but the clock tower and beautiful mosaics on the walls were severely damaged. After the 1989 earthquake, the church closed for four years with a full repair. The restoration is undoubtedly very successful as signs of earthquake damage cannot be seen inside and outside the church. The church is only open the ground floor to visitors during the day time, no ticket is required.

"Every member brings a number of books, donate them to the future college and put the books on a large table, and then declare for donating those books for the establishment of the colony's college.” Although historians doubt the authenticity of this story, but this anecdote from the “Yale College Chronicles" (1766) reflects the importance of the library.
