Is this programme officially recognized by the United States?
Answer: The programme can be recognized by the other country is very important. The programme's Exchange Visitor J-1 visa cannot work alone, it must take effect with form DS2019 which just like an invitation from the U.S. government. After filling out this form means the official recognition of U.S. government, not to mention the form DS700 for professional practice to report training progress to the U.S. government regularly.

Why American corporations let us practice? (We not only have no experience, but also need financial assistance. They just lose.)
Answer: We have to emphasize that the programme is not just for Chinese students, but also for students all over the world. Its purpose is to increase mutual understanding among the international students, learn the management concept, operation, improve their profession skills in the U.S. enterprises, live in American society, experience American culture.

What is the difference between United States and China to practice as intern? China also has a similar work placement.
Answer: The main differences are: stay in U.S.A. up to 18 months to experience American life and culture, and further improve the English proficiency, understand the operation of U.S. companies, obtain overseas work experience, become American taxpayers and obtain a valid Social Security card for life, and grab the opportunity to work with local and international interns. Besides J-1 visa protect each intern to enjoy the equal pay as their American colleagues under the perfect labor system. This will reduce the intern’s financial burden living in the United States.

Who is responsible for theapplicant’s personal safety during staying In the United States?
Answer: The United States is a legal society. If you encounter safety problems, you can seek legal assistance. We provide practical Medical and Accident Insurance, some problems can be resolved through insurance. Since intern has signed contract, he/she is also protected by related U.S. Company.

How long will it take from registration to complete the procedure?
Answer: Internship Programme procedure: initial assessment (3 days) --- submit material, placement, interview and admission (1 month -2 months, some professions may need longer time) - -- visa preparation, visa interview (1 month) --- orientation, air tickets arrangement and departure (2 weeks).

What are the general placements?
Answer: We will negotiate with host companies for different placements, intern salaries and welfare based on applicants’ different conditions (professional, work history, etc.),

When can I know the situation of the host company?
Answer: Once we have received intern’s registration, we will arrange comprehensive English language test and interview. After passed the test, we will provide appropriate host companies’ information to the applicant. When he/she is willing to work in the host company, we will arrange a telephone interview for the host company and applicant to confirm if the applicant will be accepted.

How long is the telephone interview? What are the general questions?
Answer: The telephone interview can be from a few minutes to half an hour. Mainly for English speaking ability evaluation and your background, including educational background, professional goals and expectations of this programme. We will help counseling interview.
9.
Will employers provide accommodation?
Answer: The accommodation varies by employers, most employers will provide students with accommodation and provide working meals. The request of accommodation and meals need to be stated in the signed employment agreement. If the employer does not resolve the accommodation problem, the programme organization will help students find rent accommodation, students must settle this before arrival in the United States, and accommodation costs are at students’ expenses. Rental requirement in the United States is pre pay deposit (about one month's rent) and first month rent.

What to do when labor disputes occur?
Answer: If you have unfair treatment, discrimination, sexual harassment from your employer or colleagues, or the employer cannot meet the student's work hour according to the work agreement, or cannot perform its agreed obligations stated on the work agreement, students may report the situation to the coordinator from the U.S. institutions and Chinese agency. These organizations will communicate with the employer to understand the actual situation, and protect the legitimate rights and interests of students.

Who should I contact when facing difficulties?
Answer: Both China and U.S. organizations have coordinators in the United States to keep contact with students at any time, and will update the exchange student’s situation. The U.S. institutions have 24-hour emergency service. When students encounter difficulties in daily life and work, they can always ask for help from programme organizations.

What is the content for pre-training before leaving?
Answer: Mainly about daily life, employment and related to legal aspects in the United States.
13.
Can I always contact my relatives and friends in China?
Answer: Of course yes. But the long distance telephone charges is quite expensive, you can use international mail or e-mail etc.
14.
Can I stay behind when the internship is over? Answer: You may stay behind for one month travelling in U.S. after the internship. Students must mark on the form DS2019 (legal stay time).
15.
How can we know the location and time of international flights?
Answer: We will introduce all the arrangements in the pre-training, including departure/ arrival times and transfer instructions of international flights, and provide contact phone number during the internship period.
16.
Anybody pick up the interns at the airport when they arrive in the United States?
Answer: We will arrange staff to pick up interns at the airport if necessary. These staff will assist the interns to their accommodation or temporary residence.
17.
Can I travel during the internship?
Answer: You can travel alone during the internship and valid visa period.

What is the difference between the U.S. Internship / Trainee Programme and Paid Summer Internship Programme (WORK & TRAVEL PROGRAMME)? Answer:
Similarities of the programmes:
Suitable for Chinese college students;

Same visa category, both are J-1 visas, exchange visitor visa;

Differences of the programme:
A.
For different people
Internship training programme not only for the current under graduate students, but also for would-be-graduate and graduated students, postgraduate, doctoral students, and have special skills and expertise in certain areas; Summer Internship Programme is only for current students, graduated students and doctoral students.
B.
Different requirements for students in different professions.
Internship Training Programme needs sufficient expertise and professional competence, emphasizing professional matching; Summer Internship Programme only provides fundamental, non-technical works.
C.
Different requirements for language proficiency.
Internship Training Programme requires a higher ability of English listening, speaking, reading and writing, particularly in terms of professional expertise; Summer Internship Programme requires different levels of English, as long as the participants match the primary demand of the placement, not high demanding in term of English ability.
D.
Different requirements for participants’ work experience.
Internship Training Programme often required participants having a professional background and relevant work experience, not fresh graduates; most of the Summer Internship Programme placements don’t need work experience.
